Talent recruitment, retention and human capital development are at the core of the Office of the Registrar’s strategic mandate. It is with great joy that we announce the appointment and promotion of skilled, experienced and qualified candidates to help Council fulfil its legislative mandate and take Pharmacy forward. The SAPC is poorer as it bids farewell to various colleagues due to resignation and retirement.

Promotions

Mojo Mokoena

Chief Operating Officer

SAPC - Mojo_Mokoena (Chief Operating Officer)

Mojo joined the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) in 2009 as Manager: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) & Practice. In 2010, she was appointed as Senior Manager: Professional Affairs (CPD, Preregistration and Registrations) and moved to the Pharmacy Practice unit within SAPC in 2016.

She is a qualified Pharmacist; she obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the University of the North (currently known as the University of Limpopo). She also holds two postgraduate qualifications, a Master of Science in Medicine (MSc Med.) specialising in Clinical Pharmacy from the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa) and a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) obtained at the UNISA School of Business Leadership.

Mojo Mokoena is currently a doctoral candidate at North-West University. Her doctoral research investigates the Ownership of community pharmacies and its influence on equitable pharmaceutical service provision in South Africa.

Prior to her appointment at the SAPC, Mojo served as Acting Deputy Director: Policy and Planning for the South African Military Health Services (HQ). She has also worked for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Bujumbura and the South African National Defence Force (1 Military Hospital), as well as in community pharmacy as a locum pharmacist.

Mojo is a registered assessor and an ad hoc external examiner for the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). She believes that, “Work is a large part of our lives, and we can only be truly satisfied with ourselves if we do great work. The only way to do great work is to love what we do.” She encourages us all to continue serving our nation selflessly and with humility.

Kamohelo Malaku

Senior Manager: Pre-registration and Examinations

Appointments, promotions and resignations

Kamohelo joined the SAPC in September 2015 as Manager: Professional Affairs (CPD, Pre-registration and Registrations) and was appointed to the position of Senior Manager: Pre-registration and Examinations in February 2020.

Prior to being appointed by Council, Kamohelo was a Pharmaceutical Policy Specialist (Affordable Medicines) at the National Department of Health (NDoH).  She also served as the Deputy Manager: Pharmaceutical Services at Mpumalanga Pharmaceutical Depot and Pharmacy Manager/Responsible Pharmacist at Elizabeth Ross Hospital in the Free State.

She holds Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degrees from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Kamohelo is also a member of Golden Key International Honour Society.

Simangaliso Kubheka

Internal Audit & Risk Management Controller

Simangaliso is the recently appointed Internal Audit & Risk Management Controller with the Office of the Registrar. He joined the SAPC on the 15th of September 2020.

Simangaliso started his career in 2009 at a small business consulting firm in Johannesburg as a Trainee Accountant on a 3-year contract. He was promoted to the role of Internal Auditor. In March 2012, he joined another consulting firm in Johannesburg (Xabiso Chartered Accountants, which later merged to SekelaXabiso) as a Senior Internal Auditor/Senior Consultant. His role as a Senior Internal Auditor entailed daily supervision of audit projects and other business consulting assignments, coaching and mentoring junior consultants/auditors.

In April 2015, he was promoted to Assistant Audit Manager at SekelaXabiso. Prior to joining the SAPC, Simangaliso was Internal Auditor at Johannesburg Water. His responsibilities in his new role entails, amongst other things, coordinating the internal audit function, developing and maintaining the organisation’s risk register, and providing risk advisory and risk reporting.

He holds a BCom (General Accounting). He lives by these mottos: “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible!” – Francis of Assisi, and “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill

Tebogo Mokonyane

Supply Chain Officer

Tebogo joined the SAPC on the 1st of September 2020 in the capacity of Supply Chain Officer. Prior to joining the Office of the Registrar he was employed as a Senior Buyer at Accenture, before which he was a Supply Chain Stock Analyst at Absa Group. Tebogo has had a decorated career and brings to the SAPC a wealth of experience; having worked for companies such as Dirapeng Group and Value Cement.

He states that he enjoys using the skills he has obtained to contribute to the improvement and management of Supply Chain policies at the SAPC. He graduated from the Tshwane South College in 2011 with a National Diploma in Financial Management. While in school, he earned the 2009 Best Award for exemplary academic performance and leadership skills.

He lives by the motto “Have courage and be kind”.

Resignations

Nsovo Mayimele

Manager: Professional Affairs

Appointments, promotions and resignations

Nsovo served the SAPC as Manager: Professional Affairs for more than two years with utmost diligence. She tendered her resignation on the 29th of September 2020 to pursue other opportunities, we wish her the greatest success in her journey.

Daniel Boya

Contact Centre Agent

SAPC Employee

Daniel joined the SAPC as a Contact Centre Agent in 2019. Daniel executed his duties with distinction and accuracy. He left the Office of the Registrar in March 2020 to pursue other opportunities. We wish him well in his future endeavours.

Myrain Mopayi

Internal Audit & Risk Management Controller – until August 2020

Myrain joined the SAPC in July 2020 in the role of Internal Audit & Risk Management Controller. Sadly, Mr Mopayi exited his role in the Office of the Registrar in August 2020 to pursue other opportunities. We wish him well in the new pursuits.

Retirement

Abram Moropa

Senior Logistics Clerk

Appointments, promotions and resignations

Among the longest serving Council staff members, Mr Abram Moropa retired from the Office of the Registrar in August 2020. He served the SAPC in various capacities since the late 1980s, and, at the time of his retirement, Mr Moropa occupied the position of Senior Logistics Clerk in the Communication and Stakeholder Relations Department of the SAPC.

Mr Moropa served the SAPC for more than 30 years with the utmost dedication, professionalism, trustworthiness and dependability. Your hard work and dedication has inspired us a great deal. Enjoy this new adventure of your life, we wish you good health and happiness.
