On 12 June 2020, the Minister of Health published various proposed amendments to regulations published under the Pharmacy Act, 53 of 1974, for comment.

Proposed Amendments to Regulations

On 12 June 2020, the Minister of Health published for comment the following proposed amendments to the regulations:

  1. the Regulations relating to pharmacy education and training Amendment Regulations, 2020

  2. the Regulations relating to pharmacy practice Amendment Regulations, 2020
    (click here to view); and
  3. the Regulations relating to the registration of persons and the maintenance of registers Amendment Regulations, 2020 (click here to view).

Stakeholders are invited to submit comments on the proposed Regulation Amendments by no later than 12 September 2020.

Comments must be submitted using the format outlined in the template which is available on www.health.gov.za and must be sent to the National Department of Health. Comments submitted to the South African Pharmacy Council will NOT be submitted to the National Department of Health and will therefore not be considered. Comments are to be marked for the attention of Ms Mihloti Mushwana, Director: Public Entities Governance and can be submitted in any one of the following ways:
